In this experiential session we will first examine some common myths, stereotypes and assumptions about gender in families relationships. We will consider all types of relationships and families, including friendships, parenting, kinship circles, families of choice and so on. We will take time to observe how rigid gender binaries limit not only the ways in which we love ourselves but also the ways in which we love those around us. Finally, we will explore ways in which moving beyond rigid gender binaries can free us to love more authentically, creatively and joyfully. Come prepared to share your own experiences, questions and bring curiosity and an open heart!
